OUR STORY
Mitten & Co is a painting and decorating business based in Hastings, with Nick bringing over 10 years of professional experience to every project.
Our approach comes from a shared love of good design, colour and well-made spaces, but this isn't a hobby we've turned into a business. Nick has spent the last decade developing his craft, working on everything from homes and period properties to guest houses, commercial spaces and more individual decorative projects.
He's a perfectionist by nature and takes real pride in the quality of his work. Preparation matters, finishes need to be right and there are no shortcuts when it comes to getting a job done properly. He's also a talented fine artist, with a particular eye for colour, blending and creating subtle decorative effects.
I come from a background in creative design and art direction, so I bring a slightly different perspective. I like to listen first and understand what a client actually wants from their space. I can help with colour, proportion, ideas and direction, but ultimately the finished space needs to feel like theirs, not ours.
We both believe that the environments we live and work in have a real effect on how we feel. Whether it's a straightforward redecoration, a carefully restored period property or something more individual, our aim is to create spaces that are beautifully finished, considered and made to last.
Mission
We want our client's personality to manifest visually onto their chosen space. Projecting something that reflects each person, uniquely.
As a society we are finally realising how important it is to look after our own well being. From the inside out. A home is so much more than shelter, it's a place where you should feel safe, happy & calm.
Vision
We also want to bring this service to people that need it the most. By working with local charities, we can help vulnerable families and the elderly by offering up our time and materials. All paid for from the profit of this project.
